Radio Shack District Award of Excellence Announed
In less than three years, CentraCom Technology and RadioShack store has become an icon of the main street marketplace in Mt. Pleasant. There were many that doubted the viability of this type of business in such a small community. Mindee Tucker has been managing the store since it opened. The community has supported the business which is helping keep the downtown business district of Mt. Pleasant vibrant. The store provides all of the Radio Shack products plus Alltel phone distribution. The store also contains the CentraCom Internet department. Recently, we’ve added computer repair service. CentraCom technicians will diagnose problems with the customers’ computers. They will then repair the problem with the help of a new partnership with PC Rehab.
In December 2008, RadioShack awarded the CentraCom Technology Store its 2008 District Award of Excellence. The District award, announced Dec. 24 by Vice President of RadioShack Franchise Operations Paul Rickels, recognizes CentraCom’s years of service with RadioShack marked by consistent sales performance, participation in the RadioShack Franchise program and presenting the best image of RadioShack in the community. The CentraCom store employees take great pride in what they do for the CentraCom Technology and RadioShack store. They represent the RadioShack values in our community of integrity, outstanding products to sell and home town values the community appreciates. They go the “extra mile” to let our customers know they are the best. We believe they deserve the best service from a hometown-owned RadioShack franchise.
Beside the great technology tools, a large part of the store has many technology gadgets and toys including iPod, Xbox, PlayStation, cameras, televisions, remote-control toys and much more. Other services include a convenient sign-up location for CentraCom services such as Telephone, Long Distance, High-Speed Internet and Digital Cable TV, plus a convenient location for bill payment. The CentraCom Technology Store is a one-stop location for all of your technology needs.

CentraCom Expands services to Nevada
February 1, 2009: CentraCom completes purchase of Precis Communications Cable TV customers in four Nevada communities.
We are very excited to welcome our new customers from the Nevada communities of Wendover, Ely, Ruth, McGill and Eureka.
In 2005, CentraCom became a major cable TV service provider when it purchased the Precis Communications Cable TV System in Sevier and Sanpete County. Since that purchase, CentraCom has actively upgraded the systems. This has been an enormous undertaking. Initially there were five different headends. (A headend is the location where the video signal is received and then carried to each subscriber.) Each headend had different receiving capabilities and thus created a very expensive upgrade. CentraCom then connected each community with a fiber-optic network. Now those five headends have been consolidated into one headend. Because of that upgrade, CentraCom has been able to provide those communities with a higher bandwidth cable system allowing high-speed cable modem Internet service and crystal-clear high definition (HD) television. These upgrades also make it possible to keep rates low.
Now CentraCom has plans to make the same upgrades to the Nevada communities. All facilities will be upgraded as quickly as possible to get more channels and other broadband services. In the near future, Wendover will get high-speed Internet service and HD television. Following that upgrade, many more enhancements to the other communities will be upgraded for more high-bandwidth services.
